When the power comes back it idles and cools down and shuts off. Normal homes here have 150 amp service, this was designed to handle a normal house without over taxing the generator.Common sense says don't run the microwave or hair dryers but it can handle if it has too. We live in Houston TX and when power goes out gas is hard to find for regular generators, this is plumbed into natural gas line and doesn't require much maintenance.Mobil 1 oil filter 209 fits and has larger capacity.Super easy to change filter and oil, everything is right in the front.
