How useful Generac 5449 GenReady Advanced Load Center NEMA1.Genset load centerBy Tony KI bought this panel to replace the transfer switch that came with my Generac 7kw genset. Since my house did not have an easy or logical place to put the transfer switch, this panel was the best choice for me. I installed it myself and I am very pleased with the operation of this switch. I sold the other transfer switch on ebay ($275.00) to help offset the cost. Generac needs to give you a choice of what switch/panel you want when you buy a generator. If you need to upgrade your service panel and don't have a generator, I would still consider this one as you have the option to add a genset later on.
